I guess sometimes you are just feeling it. I have days when nothing comes and then other days I will draw a load of characters straight up with not like stetches or anything before.
I guess you just have to work on different elements and then one day you suddenly realise how that mouth and those eyes can fit together

I meant like I didn't sketch anything out first. Just picked up my pen and draw whatever came to mind

That's really good, you can easily imagine something in your mind, feel it on the paper and just draw the lines where you see them. No need for actual sketches :3
I wish I could do like that haaha
